Who We Are

PETA

Peta got her first job in a bookshop in 1986 and hasn’t deviated too far from the book trade since then. After various stints with publishers, school suppliers – and more bookshops – she became an integral member of the Sandy Pages team in 2015 and can be found at the Coolum shop most days. With a long-running interest and passion for children’s books, Peta is always happy to give recommendations for our younger readers! Peta loves reading all sorts but has a special fondness for Australian fiction and YA (Young Adult) titles.

SHAMINI

A proverbial bookworm since childhood when Shamini frequently used her entire family’s quota of library cards to borrow books, her destiny was set when her first ever part-time job was in a bookshop! Her (non-book related!) career path took her to numerous corners of the globe but when fate brought her back to Australia in 1998, Shamini placed her first ‘book’print in Noosa with the opening of The River Read on Thomas Street. After selling the business and another stint globe-trotting stint overseas, Shamini returned to the Sunshine Coast and opened Sandy Pages Coolum in 2014 and even closer to home, she opened Sandy Pages Noosa in April 2018 and it is here that you can find her most days.

SUE

Brimming with enthusiasm, Sue’s contribution to the Sandy Pages team overflows daily. After moving from the northwest coast of WA, Sue found her connection to the sea strengthened with the sun, sand and surf and stories therefrom here on the Sunshine Coast.  Given Sue’s love for books and reading and that she bounces between both our book lovers’ havens, she is the go-to person if you are looking for some compelling reading recommendations.
